Brian Chow
Brian Chow was born in San Francisco and began learning the Er Hu at a young age. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Music and then continued studying the Er Hu at China Conservatory of Music in Beijing, one of the country’s leading conservatories in traditional Chinese music.
He was part of the Great Wall Youth Orchestra for many years and has also performed across the United States on several tours.
Chow’s main passion is teaching music, and he has been actively teaching in the Bay Area for many years. He obtained his California teaching credential in music from SF State University and has been teaching at various schools for the past decade.
He is currently teaching instrumental music at several San Francisco public schools and also teaches erhu to students privately. He hopes to continue spreading his talents with others in order to build cultural awareness and appreciation.
